What is the INAP?

The Institute of Public Administration of Navarre (INAP) is part of the Department of Presidency, Justice and Interior of the Navarre Region.

INAP’s main aims

3.        Learning and development for the public sector

---> Seminars and training courses for civil servants who work for any public administration in Navarre (local, regional, or national administrations)

---> Different training areas covered:

• Public Management
• Legislation and procedures in the Public Sector
• European legislation and procedures
• Financial Management
• Customer Service Improvement and Communication
• The Digitalisation of Public Administration
• Human Resource Management
• Equal Opportunities and Multicultural Diversity
• Improving the use of the information and communication technologies
• Communication in regional and foreign languages
• Etc.

 

At INAP, the Language Service

 

The Language Service is part of the Institute of Public Administration (INAP)

Our aims are related to the INAP’s general aims, but concerning languages.

Activities:

---> Consulting, research and training in linguistic areas.

---> In which languages?

- Basque, a minority language spoken by part of the population in Navarre and the neighbouring Basque Country.

- English, French and German, as European languages.

>> Amongst other activities, we offer language training for civil servants in those four languages.

 

We are also working together with other institutions in setting up new methods of language training.

 

We have different types of courses:

• Intensive/technical courses
• In-class courses
• Blended learning courses

 

Target group and number of students

 

-       Civil servants of all kinds: doctors, firemen, policemen, nurses, lawyers, administrative assistants, economists, engineers,…

-       They are all adult learners.

-       They need language skills for personal/professional purposes.

-       They possess different degrees of technological skills.

-       Depending on the course, they learn languages in their spare time or in their working time.

 

This year, 2009/2010, we have roughly 850 students of English,125 of French, and 50 of German.
